Sparkle and Fade by Urban Outfitters t-shirt. I loved the back detail on this and decided to turn it forward.
Black vintage booties I mistakenly brought with me as my go-to shoe. I seemed to work them out somehow though..right?

It’s funny how quickly life changes, when you’re young you have this vision of your life….and in time you grow up and you realize you are no longer a child and this dream, or “vision” starts to seem almost impossible, improbable even. Perhaps in growing up we are in a sense forced to give up on those dreams because when real world factors come into play they in turn are not all that logical…all that possible. However we feel we have found…even made the bridge between this Vision; filled with hope and lacking any and all sense of fear and the Reality of Growth. Seattle is that bridge, a way for us to embark on this life journey, take chances, make these strides and risk it all…without loosing too much. We feel some people are so ready to go…so eager to be something..somewhere that they leave before they are in truth Ready to go. We hope to reach a certain point of success…both personal and professional before we leave for the big city…New York has and will always be “the” goal….but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the journey…and it doesn’t mean we can’t fight, even win a few battles before we fight the war.

Seattle summers can lead to an array of different looks and textiles. From cozy cashmere to sheer button downs the erratic changes don’t stop us from seizing the day and conquering the weather. After the move we decided to mesh our closets together into one collective mass of idea and opportunity, we like to call ourselves closet communists. Seattle is full of inspiration and because of the constant weather changes we’re never bored with what we’re wearing and we hope you aren’t either.

As ridiculous as it may seem living in a city that only gets so much sunlight a year, I cannot complete a look without adding a pair of signature sunnies to fully bring it all together. These particular bug eyes give me the slim chance to transcend and channel the 1960’s icon, Jacqueline Onassis with of course some personalization to remain Alix Gutierrez.

Living in a city that has so much history we decided to take it back a couple of decades with a look solely inspired by the 50’s. The wind from the sound manipulated the perfect consistency of our light weight textiles, which happened to drape us so well for this shoot. With an homage to Marilyn Monroe and overall classic American summer outing attire, we loved the contrast from our usual black uniform.
