Keep your wits sharp but your look sharper.
Last but not least, my absolute favourite trend this season would be the socks and sandals combo. Again, the contrast of the two make quite the dynamic duo and will add a certain effortless chicto any outfit.

We all love a nice chunky knit for the Winter, but why not experiment and incorporate it into your Spring/Summer wardrobe also? This black and gold zip Ralph Lauren knit was a great find; I love the cropped look I gave it along with my high-waisted lightweight linen shorts from Zara. I thought that the contrast of the two fabrics created a cohesive, ready-to-wear ensemble…
Essentially my favourite look for the Spring and Summer seasons would be either Boho chic or a really ethereal, lightweight ensemble. However, lately I’ve been incredibly into a darker and edgier look. New York street chic has been such an inspiration to me these past couple of months and considering Burberry and Lanvin are my favourite designers, I figured why not contrast the ethereal aesthetic with harder and darker components…
Today is a busy, busy day for J and A. Two photoshoots with one down (Our Look Our Day) and one more to go. As boring as it may seem, I plan on approaching this season in the very minimal sense. Not always, but for the most part. However, I do plan on surcharging a certain spice to every look and adding to the basics with at least one powerful piece or perhaps accessorizing beyond that of a gypsy. From top to bottom I have on a vintage plaid button down by an unknown designer, my Zara riding pants/legging which I wore for a previous shoot in December, and showcasing for a second time my Sam Edelman leather wedges; with my only accesory being a pair of rockin’ aviators. Simple and composed; this is my look for May 4th 2011.

Last summer my mother ventured back to her native land of Romania to visit her mother and sister. She came back with these; my Zara riding pant/legging with a riding jacket to accompany it-I absolutely adored them. I’ve yet to wear them together…I’m not to sure how that would pan out. Over matching is slightly vexatious to me and considering I’m no horseback rider I feel the look would be a little inappropriate. Although I do wear both pieces separately and they truly pull some looks together in such a subliminally equestrian manner.
Back to basics. After all the winter layering (as much as I love it) I could use a break. The weathers changing and so is my approach to fashion this Summer. Minimalism’s going to take its toll on me and I to it. It should be an interesting transition and I’m ready for the challenge. Bring on the heat.
Layering has been an engrossing topic that’s been fresh in our minds lately and given this erratic weather we’re jumping at every opportunity to capture the moment and latch what we believe is appropriate. An oversized F21 floral lace long sleeve gently covered by one of my favourite Goodwill finds, the knit black turtle neck poncho (that I cannot wait to fully take advantage of in the upcoming seasons); alas for hidden detail these black high-waisted Zara leggings.
